Your evening at the Island Breeze Luau begins with a warm aloha as you arrive at the historic grounds of Kamakahonu Bay. Feel the embrace of Hawaiian hospitality as you’re welcomed with a friendly smile and the opportunity to participate in pre-show activities—try your hand at hula dancing, receive a temporary Polynesian tattoo, or chat with the performers who bring these traditions to life.
As the sun dips below the horizon, the ceremonial unveiling of the roasted pig from the imu (underground oven)takes place. This time-honored tradition is a highlight of the evening, offering a glimpse into ancient Hawaiian cooking methods.
Soon after, the Royal Court arrives in grand fashion aboard a traditional outrigger canoe, an experience unique to the Island Breeze Luau. This regal procession, featuring members adorned in elaborate Hawaiian attire, pays tribute to the aliʻi (royalty) of old Hawaiʻi.
Dinner is then served—a lavish buffet featuring an array of traditional Hawaiian dishes alongside local island favorites. From fresh poke and kalua-style pork to island fish and sweet potato haupia, the meal is a true feast for the senses. An open bar ensures your glass remains filled as you savor the flavors of the islands.
As the evening progresses, the stage comes alive with the vibrant Polynesian revue, “He ʻOhana Kakou.” This stunning performance tells the stories of Hawaiʻi, Samoa, Tahiti, and New Zealand through song, dance, and fire knife performances. The rhythmic beats of the Polynesian drums and the graceful movements of the hula dancers create an unforgettable spectacle.
The night concludes with a final celebration of ‘ohana (family)—a moment of unity that brings together locals and visitors alike in appreciation of Polynesian culture. As you leave, the sound of Hawaiian melodies lingers in the air, leaving you with memories of an enchanting evening in paradise.
