Zip Line over Botanical Garden Waterfall

Location: Hilo, Big Island

Tour Highlights

Launch from the rainforest canopy and build speed with each line until you're flying above Puʻu o Kamaeʻe Falls, racing across valley gorges with sweeping views of the Hamakua Coast, Pacific Ocean, and Mauna Kea.

  • Zip through Botanical World Gardens above tropical rainforest canopy
  • Glide over Puʻu o Kamaeʻe Falls with dramatic waterfall views
  • Cross a swaying suspension bridge above lush valley terrain
  • Race dual ziplines across deep Hamakua Coast gorges
  • Soar a half-mile finale line above a 250-foot waterfall

Quick Local Tip: Remember that you're ziplining through a living botanical garden. Ask your guides what's fruiting around the gardens. Depending on the season, you may get to sample tropical fruits and edible plants that many visitors walk right past.

What to Expect

After a brief safety orientation and gear fitting at Botanical World Adventures, you'll head to the top of the course where rainforest-covered valleys stretch toward the Pacific Ocean. The first ziplines ease you into the experience, replacing nervous anticipation with the unmistakable thrill of gliding quietly through the treetops.

As the tour unfolds, each line carries you farther across the landscape. You'll soar above tropical vegetation, cross a swaying suspension bridge suspended over the valley, and pause between platforms to take in views of waterfalls, winding streams, and the lush Hamakua Coast scenery surrounding you. With every launch, the feeling of speed and freedom continues to build.

The grand finale is where everything comes together. Dual racing lines add a burst of friendly competition before the signature half-mile zip sends you flying above Puʻu o Kamaeʻe Falls. As the waterfall thunders below and panoramic views stretch from the coastline to Mauna Kea, it's easy to forget you're attached to a cable at all. By the time your feet touch the ground, you'll have crossed one of the Big Island's most scenic zipline courses from canopy to waterfall.
